At last, a courier package arrives from NZ! Who’d have thunk it, all that for this small, unassuming looking piece of paper. As the snow falls outside over Basel I take stock once more. This is not the end, just the beginning!I decided to stay a ways away from the aerodrome and commute, plus go to NZ twice, and Berlin, so my stats are probably not typical. My personal recipe for one PPL was:

  • 6800kms driven
  • 4 pens used up
  • 437 pages of study notes written
  • 6 theory exams passed, 1 oral
  • 60,000 air miles.. as a passenger
  • 340kms train travel
  • 21.8 solo hours flown
  • 55.1 dual hours flown

So what’s next? A bit of a rest from flying. I will look into flying in this hemisphere, but at the very least I look forward to many future flights over the beautiful scenery of New Zealand! In fact, I might just start booking another trip…..
