Stunning weather. Great flying. Repeat daily.
I flew a solo overhead join, then a number of glide approaches, which involves cutting power at 1000ft and taking a turning, short approach onto the runway. The idea of this is to simulate the last 1000ft of an engine failure. More such fun antics to come in the coming days! The forecast is looking pretty good for a long time to come, which is probably a good thing as I start to contemplate the number of days I have left.
And the owners of Euroflight ended the day by getting dressed up to go to their swearing in ceremony. That’s right, the New Zealand government has seen fit to allow them to become citizens. I have already given them a good talking to about all that this entails, the change of attitude needed, no more whingeing, the change of wardrobe needed, swandris, jandals and singlets will have to be purchased. I can only hope the mayor reinforces these factors tonight!
Technical: Dual 0.8 hrs, solo 0.5 hrs, overhead joins and glide approaches
