It was Nottingham East Midlands airport, the school Donair. I had a trial flight of one hour, something I had wanted to do for a very long time to try and launch into a PPL.
The flight began with a bit of a wait on the taxiway, then we flew South over Loughborough and banked to port to go over SW Nottingham.
It was quite a windy and showery day, a difficult landing… by the instructor. It was quite a novelty using an international runway and sandwiching in between the jets.
Afterwards, a virgin log book with one hour entered!
This flight kind of got me thinking about weather issues, do I really want to get a PPL in Nottingham for double the hourly rate and half the available flying days….?
