The wind increased. The first flight in the early afternoon involved wrestling with the controls to try and stay on course and on target. By the time we had done five or so circuits I was knackered, and the fun-ometer gauge was showing a low reading. Too tired to go up again for my second slot!

But it’s all good experience and makes me a better pilot, taking off and landing into strong wind is a much more challenging scenario than the usual flatter runs. And I am sure it gets a LOT worse, especially in climates like England. Or in cities like Wellington.
Throughout the day there have been all sorts of weird and wonderful planes flying around, in preparation for tomorrows air show. Unfortunately I was not quick enough on the trigger finger to catch any of them with the camera, hopefully tomorrow I will get some cool shots.
