Another busy day at the office with two afternoon flights, with an instructor I haven’t had before.
Lessons today were more circuits, combined with simulated engine failure on takeoff. This involves dropping the throttle shortly after takeoff as if the engine had failed, recovering the level/attitude from stall risk by diving the nose (!) and looking for an emergency spot to land. Once again, I am pleased I am currently used to the motion otherwise there might have been a cabin full of teriyaki chicken sandwich.
Following that some crosswind flying, including flying crabwise.
A fax copy of my class 2 medical certificate arrived, which apparently means I am sufficiently healthy to fly solo. But am I ready? I am not sure about this cold.. hmm.
More study for Tuesday!
